It's My Park Day in Seward Park was a huge success thanks to an amazing group of volunteers, including a team from local Trader Joe's store #538 on Grand St.

SPRING CLEANING IN SEWARD PARK

Seward Park is looking its very best, just in time for warmer weather and longer days!

This past Saturday, Seward Park Conservancy partnered with Partnerships for Parks to host our It’s My Park Day in Seward Park. After having to reschedule twice due to uncooperative weather forecasts, we were thrilled to finally have such a beautiful - albeit chilly - day for some outdoor spring cleaning. With the help of 40 amazing volunteers, we swept pathways, cleaned out the garden beds, and picked up trash from all over the park, including the Schiff Fountain. All totaled, we collected almost 50 bags of trash!

We want to thank all of our hardworking volunteers for their time, as well as Partnerships for Parks for sponsoring this event. Seward Park has been the heart of our community for the past 118 years, and it’s always meaningful to see our community give back to it. Interested in joining us next time? DAFFODIL WATCH

We’ve been waiting all winter, and it’s finally time — the daffodils are beginning to bloom! Last fall, Seward Park Conservancy was honored to be a part of the 20th season of the Daffodil Project, a citywide volunteer effort that plants daffodils as a living memorial to the victims of 9/11. With the help of the Daffodil Project and some hardworking volunteers, we planted 1,200 daffodil bulbs in Seward Park last November. Now those bulbs are beginning to bloom, making the start of this spring extra colorful! Don’t wait too long to come see them — daffodils only bloom for a month or two before making way for mid-spring flowers, like tulips.
